This was by far the best game yet! SF was colder than expected, as usual, but the seats were great, it wasn't cold inside the stadium (b/c it's really the wind that makes it cold), and the game was great. We got there early enough to get our NY Giants cap (the Giants were originally a NY team) and walk around a little bit.
The game was fast paced for the most part - after the 9th inning though it got a little slow. We got to see Barry Bonds at bat several times and playing in the outfield. We walked around the entire stadium and stood by the bay when Bonds was up to bat - just in case his 750th out of the park homer was hit over there (but it wasn't). The Giants won 6-5 in the 13th inning after a 4 1/2 hour game!
We also saw another bases loaded situation and the batter, Vizquel, hit two to left field that went just foul. There were a lot of great things that happened at this game but maybe the biggest was that it was the first time, since 1962, that the Giants beat the Yankee's in SF! And, it was b/c rookie Nate Schierholtz hit a single bringing in Kelsko to break the 5-5 tie that had been holding strong since the 9th inning. And, to top it all off, the attendance that day was 43,485 which set a regular season attendance record for the 2nd day in a row.
By the time we got home we fell promptly asleep. Too much excitement, what with the condo being accepted and all, for one weekend.
