This past weekend the last of the family members who are going to come were here- my dad and Chris. And, of course, they were in love with little Kayla! Dad looked so cute and proud. He even got her a "grandpa's sweetheart" onsie. They came when it was really hot so we spent a lot of time inside in the a/c but we did manage to make it to the park for a little while.
Kayla has started rolling to her side - I think I posted a video of that last week. She's also started holding on to objects better and, tonight she even intentionally grabbed onto her animals and a rattle.
She's also going to bed a little more quickly these days. Not necessarily any quieter, though tonight was really great - she just kind of floated to sleep. I'm hoping that by the time she's 4 months she'll be going to sleep on her own without my needing to walk with her, rock her, shhhh her, or sing to her. That's right folks - I have sung to get her to sleep a couple times. She's probably the only one in the world that doesn't care if my singing sucks. :-) Anyway - I will be sad to lose our time together but it's slowly gotten to be less and less time so at least it's an slow transition.
It's really quite interesting to think that they intuitively just figure things out with or without our help. It's going to be so much fun to watch her grow and develop in the coming months and years. There's so much ahead of us. But even in her short 12 weeks she has grown and changed so much... sometimes I look at her and think "you look different this evening than you did this morning". It's so crazy!
Okay, must go. I don't want this to turn into yet another long one. Enjoy the pictures!
I have wondered the same thing about saying how old they are.... so was yesterday Kate's two month because she was 8 weeks or do I technically wait until the 26th?
ReplyDeleteAhh, life's many mommy questions :)
