The sleeping thru the night only lasted thru Monday night - Tues and Wed night she woke up twice! Last night when she woke up I gave her a pacifier and she went right back to sleep! And we woke up at 7am this morning! Yay!
She's a giggly girl these days too. And I think the "solid" foods are going to come soon - she was watching quite intently last night as my food moved from my plate to my mouth. Too cute!
Today I started putting mittens on her hands when she sleeps b/c she's taken to raking her hands across her head - scratching herself - and pulling her hair. So, to prevent further hairloss and a child who looks like she was in a fight with a cat - we're trying the mittens. She doesn't seem to mind them yet, and apparently they taste just as yummy as her hands. :)
The other day my head would not stop itching - no it's not dandruff or lice. It's part of postpartum hormones returning to normal. And I thought - this is not something I was told about. So I made this list...
Things they don't tell you about postpartum life:
Things they don't tell you about postpartum life:
- I would still be huge 3 days after delivery
- I could survive on no more than 4 hours of sleep at a time.
- My bellybutton hole would be huge!
- My hair would fall out and my scalp would itch so bad I wanted to tear it off - 3.5 months after delivery!
- I wouldn't watch more than 15 mins of tv at a time.
- I would wear maternity pants for 2 months!
- I would eventually not wear maternity pants but my real clothes still wouldn't fit.
- I would only get 2.5 hours a day with her.
- I wouldn't mind being peed on, spit up on, picking her nose, or wiping her little bottom.
- I would do so much baby laundry!
- The last 10 lbs would be a bitch to lose.
- I would randomly smile uncontrollably during the day
- I would buy diapers in bulk
- I would file her nails everyday and she'd still scratch herself
- I would be so completely in love (well, they did tell me this one, I just didn't understand it completely)
the hair and scalp thing is crazy! i didn't know that. Why does that happen?
