... now puts her hands to her head (or other body part) when she bumps it
... hands us her plate when she wants more of something - super cute!
... LOVES fruit, HATES veggies, is sometimes on a milk hiatus and a juice diet.
... is much more demanding with her "more" clapping
... still loves to pour water out of cups and bowls
... wears a size 5 shoe
... HATES closed doors or enclosed spaces but will run away into a corner if you chase her
... if you're on the phone and she says bye bye, she'll then close the phone and hang up on you.
... when we go in to wake daddy up in the morning, she now tries to shake him like mommy does, or if we are just saying bye she crawls over him, gets in his face and practically yells "bye bye!"
... when daddy or I say good night she says bye bye.
... is much better at walking, stepping around and over things
... can almost put the right shapes in the right holes in her shape sorter thingy. She needs just a little bit of help but she's close.
... talks all the time and has added the following to her vocabulary
muah muah = more
buh=book
bubble
chz = cheese
juice (sounds pretty close to shoes)
teeth
doh = door
Also says "ma ma" all the time but it's usually not directed at me. If you ask her who ma ma is she points to her chest, because when she says it I say "ma ma?" and point to my chest to indicate me. Though in the last couple days it seems she's testing out "ma ma" as it relates to me so we might be on the right track.
... has 11 teeth including 3 molars... we're just waiting for that 4th molar to pop through and it seems like two more side on the bottom are coming in too.
... likes to read her books upside down
... says "ahhhh" after she takes a drink.... not every time but sometimes she really gets into it.
... forgot how to give kisses but gives the greatest hugs
... still currently lists the Good Night World series as a couple of her favs but now has added Open the Barn Door, Baby Einstein Baby Animal Touch and Feel (and almost any animal book), and Cute As Can Be as favorite books as well.
... still LOVES animals! Can point out a cow, a horse, a cat, a dog, and a monkey in at least 1 book. She recognizes dogs and monkeys in most any book, others are a hit or miss. Sometimes she also knows sheep. When we read Open the Barn Door she doesn't want to look at the goat, but she sometimes knows a goat says "meh".
... knows that dogs say "ruff ruff" but we haven't gotten a handle on moo, meow, or any other new sounds (she knew sss for snake, baa for sheep, roar for lion, and ah ah ah for monkey last month)
... if you put a tissue up to her nose and tell her to blow, she generally does it... not real hard but she tries, and she gets the concept.
... is on a milk boycott at the moment, but would drink a gallon of juice a day if you let her.
... now also knows where her tongue and knees are. Next on the list of body parts - hands
...identifies by name balls, apples, juice, apple jacks, door, and the aforementioned animals.
...likes to be helpful - she wants to throw things away, will grab her diaper when she needs it changed (sometimes), likes to part of cooking dinner by handing you ingredients or measuring cups even if you aren't cooking, etc.
... is obsessed with the fridge and will cry bloody murder if you close the door before she's ready (which we're convinced will never happen so there's a lot of crying).
... is such a whiner these days and is definitely starting in on the tantrums.
... wants to take whatever book we read before bedtime into her crib with her so look at before she goes to sleep.
... is becoming more of a toddler every day - and all that that entails. We are loving it and hating it and dealing with it... and at least one of us (me) is nervous about the coming months. Should work out real well. :-)
