One fish, two fish, red fish, blue fish

This Dr. Seuss classic is Kayla's new favorite book.  We've read it every night before bed for the last few weeks.  So much so that the other day I read the first 5 or 6 pages with my eyes closed because I wasn't fully awake yet.  :-)

If you put her in front of her bookshelf and tell her to pick out a book to read she'll always pick this one.  She definitely has pages she doesn't like and when you start to read them she turns the page.  On the other hand, there are pages she really likes because she can help "read".  For example, on page says "Why are they sad and glad and bad?  I do not know, go ask your dad."  And as I'm reading, when you say "go ask your" she says "da".  A page or two later says "Oh me!  Oh my!  Oh me!  Oh my!  What a lot of funny things go by."  And she'll say "by" when it's time.  Likewise with "way" only she says "wee" and "high".  :-)  I'm trying to get her to say other words in there like bump (I know, I know, but she can actually kinda say it), and bike (because she says it every time she sees a bicycle).  When we get to the pages about sheep taking a walk in their sleep she says "baa" but doesn't like the pages about the Nook, the Zans, the Ying, or the Gack... almost always turns the page.

Then, when we're done reading and I close the book, she takes it and points at her crib.  I take her over there and put her and the book in her crib and she spends a couple minutes reading flipping through the book and then passes out with it next to her.  So incredible cute!
