Bath/bedtime routine

Around here we've had a bedtime routine worked out for some time.  I'd say at least a year, maybe more.  It's evolved over the months but the structure is there.  When she was little it was bottle, bath, bed (however we were getting her to sleep at the time included).  Then it was dinner, play, bath, stories, bed.  And after bathtime Eric would come up, we'd all have hugs and kisses.  Always after getting in our pj's we'd go turn the lights off and shut the door.  I'd then pick out 1-3 books for us to read and get us situated.  Before I was hugely pregnant we'd spend some time after the books were read cuddling.  Then I got to big and she was uncomfortable sitting on my lap for too long so that went away.  Then for a couple weeks (after delivery) we'd cuddle and I'd tell her everything we did that day.  That's gone now too, don't know why.  And the last thing, no matter what, was singing You Are My Sunshine to her followed by "Good night.  I love you."

So, now, our (very detailed) bedtime routine (on bath night) is:

Take a bath
Brush teeth - pratice our E's and Ah's :-)
Put away any random hair bands

Turn off bathroom light

close mom/dad's door

close bathroom door

close office door

shut off bedroom light (while mom hurries to turn on lamp!)

dry off
head to dresser get dressed in pj's

Kayla then picks out the same books for several weeks in a row then climbs up the stool and hops onto my lap so we can read said books.  I turn off the lamp (which puts us in complete darkness because her nightlight sucks - gotta buy a new one!), put her in bed, and sing You Are My Sunshine.  When I'm done she says "more" and I say "no" (becuase I'm mean like that!).  Then...
Mom: Goodnight.  I love you.
Kayla: nite nite.  I love you.
Mom: I love you.
