Remember, almost a year ago, when I said we had officially entered toddlerhood because Kayla had started walking. I was wrong! But we're certainly there now. In the past month Kayla has told me no more times than I can count, crawled/fell out of her crib, been put in time out at least once a day, started giving her baby brother hugs and tried to soothe him, almost fell down the stairs (and I seriously hurt my toes when I landed on them wrong lunging to catch her so she didn't really fall down the stairs!), took food we were sharing away from me, taken off her shirt during nap time, learned that there is actually stuff in her diaper, decided she doesn't need a nap every day, and had an actual play date at our house with a girl she liked but now idolizes and mimics all the time.
And then today, the thing that sealed the deal must first be shown in pictures. This was Kayla when I got her after she didn't take her nap today. What's wrong with this picture???
Look closely. Can't tell? Look again...
That's right, she TOOK HER DIAPER OFF! What? How'd she do that? Guess I have to stop putting her to nap in only a shirt and her diaper, and maybe coming to the room when she says "mommieeeeeeee". (I have to ignore her because going into the room would just delay nap time and since we don't get nap time every day anymore I don't chance it.)
That is the true mark of a toddler!
