That first day he wasn't into it... which was frustrating because I'd used 3 oz of pumped milk to make the cereal and you have to throw it out after he's started it. I did figure out a way not to waste so much milk but I also talked to the doctor and he said he didn't have to start on cereal - we could do veggies instead. So that's what we did.
SWEET POTATOES!
That worked out better... for a few days. He was gulping down a tub for lunch and one for dinner. I was loving it. But, his tummy was not. And after a couple days of this he started refusing the food. All food - cereal, sweet potatoes, and green beans. Until, finally, one day he got it all out of his system (and into his diaper). Then he could eat again. So, I had to slow down on the solids. Gotta give his tummy some time to get used to this new stuff. I only give him food (and he'll only take food) if he's filled his diaper recently. TMI? Sorry! That's how it is folks.
Moral of the story, when it's good it's good but when it's bad, it's bad. We keep trying and he does well, provided things in the tummy area are good. Might take us some time to move through all the foods but we'll get there. And I think he's gonna love it! I mean, look at that face! He's ready... we're just waiting on the body to catch up.
(Maybe I should try prunes. :-) )
