Tylers 13 month post

Tyler is getting to be a lot more fun and a lot more independent (as long as he's not tired or hungry or at home.  :-) )  Eric will probably disagree but when we are at the park he practically ignores me.  Ha ha.  He's also becoming much better at walking.  He catches his balance more, he turns himself around, he can get up from sitting on the floor though it's still pretty difficult for him and he will choose to crawl over to something he can hold on to if something is close enough.  He still only has 6 teeth - waiting on A LOT more.  And he's still a pretty small guy - wearing 9-12 month clothes.  So, now, onto the stuff he does...

... if he's tired he will force his way into my lap - even if Kayla's in it.  It's really pretty funny, except that he's tired and clingy.  :-)

... when we are reading at night, he likes 1 particular page in good night moon, flips the pages till he gets there.


... loves doors - makes a beeline for them, out them, through them as much as possible!

... he loves the pictures in the stairway.  Points at them all the way up and down when we're walking.

... has a penchant for using utensils to comb my hair.

... his favorite books are "Where Does Maisy Live" "Shake it up Baby" and "Moo Baa La La La".  He gets all excited when he finds those books.

... he stands at the bathroom door and bangs on it if someone is in it.

... if there is something he can stand on - a mat, a curb, a table, a chair, whatever, he will stand on it.

... if I'm holding him on my hip, he will lean forward and stare at me until I look at him.... makes him laugh too!

... he eats all his meals and a lot of snacks with us but still nurses around 4am, 6am, and then after naps and before bed.  So, it's getting less but still a lot.  And still spits out milk. 

...he'll eat cereal though - one little cheerio and milk so maybe he'll get used to  the milk that way... maybe.

... he's finally used to Stroller Strides.  For a while I couldn't let him see me or he'd start crying.  But he enjoys it better now - most days.

... he's found the books at the end of the couch and seriously loves to go push them around.  Doesn't push them off the shelf but just pushes them back.

... just like his dad, he's a big fan of the couch.  He likes to sit on it and roll around on it and lay around on it and stands up all over it. 

... loves to stand up and/or turn around in the grocery cart.

He's really a very smiley little boy, loves the camera, loves his family, loves peek a boo.  I'm eagerly awaiting the next few months when he really comes to life and starts to play with more and more things and people.
