You know - if you know me you know I LOVE pictures. I take pictures of everything - pictures of what I see around me, things that Eric and I do, things my friends and I do, stuff that happens at work, sunsets, landscapes, whatever... I love it all. Usully they are the kind where you hold out the picture so you can be in it, but you do what you gotta do.
But, funny thing about pictures - you never, or rarely, take pictures when times are tough, when you're sad or mad or angry. Pictures tell you about the great times, the fun times, the adventures and exciting things going on around you. I have one picture that I can think of that was taken at a sad time - my car had just been stolen - taken from my HS parking lot (I got it back later that night - they only needed it for a few hours I guess) - and my friend Katherine was giving me a hug, consoling me. Other than that - every other picture is what you'd expect to find in someone's photo albums. But, that's the great thing - they remind you that life is full of ordinary and extraordinary things. They remind you how much fun you've had. They remind you how wonderful the people in your life are - and what those people bring to your life. They remind you to be thankful.
I don't understand the folks who don't want to be in pictures, who don't want pictures taken of them - usually b/c they don't like the way they look. You know what I say to them - this is your life, it's the life you're leading, what's important is not what you look like, but what you feel like. I have this slideshow of pictures on myspace and everyonce in a while I actually watch the whole thing all the way through and I'm reminded that life is good... sometimes we need to be reminded of that...I encourage you to look at yours regularly. Make yourself one of these little slide shows and watch it... remember the good times... they are so much more important than the not so good times.
