Reaching!

For the last few weeks Kayla has certainly been able to hold on to things if you place them in or very near her hand but this week she's working on reaching for things. She's been good at grabbing her toys in her play mat but, like I said, they were within her reach and her fingers just kind of closed around it. But now... I put a toy on the tray of her swing this weekend and she was very focused on trying to get it but couldn't quite manage it. Last night I bought a package of bubbles and Eric put it in front of her and she reached out and grabbed it! April, her morning teacher at daycare, said that when she tried to take a picture of Kayla she reached out to try to grab the camera. So it seems to be her main focus right now.

I told Eric last night that I'm going to make sure Kayla knows that at some point she did not know how to grab things - something we take for granted and do a million times a day she had to learn how to do - we all have to learn that skill but I don't think we think about that now. Anyway, here's a picture of it, but it looks like every other picture of her holding on to something. I uploaded a video but am going to work on getting a better one.  Enjoy!
