14 Weeks!

Well, this will be short b/c of all the other posts this week. Big things this week - she's grabbing on to things and lifting them. She is, and we are, thoroughly enjoying her bumbo chair. Eric has officially quit smoking. And Kayla is 13 lbs and 11oz!

I'm working to get Kayla to sleep through the night. I was successful one night - she didn't even wake up but most nights she wakes up at least once. I've discovered that she much prefers to sleep on her side or her stomach. I will put her to sleep on her stomach some nights but after a couple minutes I flip her over to her side or her back. If she'll fall asleep on her side that's what I prefer b/c then I don't have to move her.

Soon enough she'll flip herself over and then I won't worry about it too much but until then I do what I can to keep her on her back. Anyway - she's been down to one bottle per night for the most part for a while now but it'd be nice to be rid of that 2am feeding! Every night she's up around 2 am - it's crazy! As soon as she's done with the 2am feeding I will move her into her very own bedroom and her very own crib. Not something I'm rushing! I like having her close but at some point she's got to use her crib. :)

Oh, and we went to the doctor again today to find out about her continual runny nose. He didn't have anything new to say. Since it doesn't bother her and she doesn't have any chest congestion he doesn't want to treat it aggressively. We're going to try having her breathe directly in front of her humidifier and see if that helps and we have another round of antibiotics to try if that doesn't work. We did a breathing treatment in his office today where she had to wear an oxygen mask - she seriously hated that thing so we had to just hold the tube in front of her face and hope the vapors got into her nose. Anyway, this has been going on - the runny nose - for a while now and the doctor doesn't seem to think it's anything major. But I for one don't think it's normal to have a runny nose for a month. But we'll see if these things work and go from there. Poor girl... not that she minds it. She minds the nose drops and the bugger sucker outer but not the runny nose. :) Hopefully it clears up soon!

I guess that's about it. I'm going to go catch up on some TV shows... I'm so thankful for DVR!
