1st Father's Day

So it seems today is the first of many Father's Days in Eric's life! I personally think it was a great day! Kayla and I got up early (well, normal time, but 7am on a Saturday is early!) and after eating breakfast went to get bread and bacon so "we" could make daddy some french toast, eggs, and bacon for breakfast. While I cooked Kayla was perfectly content (thought loud and talkative) in her swing playing with her rattle. (And, I might add, the books said by about 5 months she'd be able to transfer objects from one hand to another, and lo and behold she did that!) During breakfast Kayla pulled out her full arsenal of weapons: talking, spitting up, throwing the toys, sneezing... all to let daddy know he was a daddy to a little troublemaker! We spent the rest of the day relaxing and playing (except when dad had to work on his class homework and take his car in for a smog check). Kayla took a 3 hour nap in the late morning and then only took one other 30 minute nap around 530 so we had ALL DAY with her. We blew bubbles, sang songs, bounced, talked, giggled, all the things little girls love to do!

Oh and, for Father's Day, Kayla and I made Eric a coffee mug to add to his collection. We went yesterday to Color Me Mine - a paint your own pottery place - and had Kayla put her hand prints on a coffee mug. Unfortunately, we have to wait a week to get it and since we'll be on vacation we won't get it until the 6th, but that's okay. I had the lady take some pictures which I made into a collage so Eric could see how much fun we had.

All in all, I personally think it was a great Father's Day - and I'm sure he agrees!
