Wow what a difference a few months makes! Ms. Kayla is almost 5 months (20 weeks) old. I went back to work when she was 2.5 months and the weekend before I went back I was freaking out because I went to get my hair done and the guy doing it was taking forever and I felt so bad being away from her for so long. Today when I went to get my hair done, I considered asking her to go ultra quick so I could go take a nice long nap in my car. :) ha ha ha.
Anyway - Kayla is certainly growing up quick. Everyone says that but you don't understand it until it actually happens. But, in some ways, I have to remind myself that she's only (almost) 5 months old since she likes to go go go.
I gotta say though, there wasn't a whole lot of new stuff this week. She's rolling over like crazy!
Oh, and she likes to hold her bottle now and she attempts to put it in her mouth, though usually it ends up closer to her nose than her mouth. She's starting to get angry when you stop playing with her or change her toys before she's ready - so TX folks - watch out! :) She's stiiiill not sleeping through the night. She did on Thursday night but she more than made up for it on Friday. But I have to say, Eric is better at coming to calm her down when he's still up and I've gone to bed (good luck getting him up once he's asleep!). She still wakes me up but at least he can sit in the room with her and I can go back to sleep! Oh, and she's getting a little better at sitting - I'm sure we're still a ways away from unsupported setting but she can sit there by herself for a few seconds. To think, a few weeks ago she wanted nothing more than to be cuddled up in our arms and now she wants nothing more than to be up and about and exploring her world!
Oh, I almost forgot, on Friday Kayla and I went to JCPenny's and for no known reason Kayla just busted out laughing. I have no idea why but I kept tickling her and laughing right along... I swear she laughed for like a minute and a half straight - and so loud - people by us were looking at us and laughing right along. It was so funny and so cute... I hope I never really forget that!
In other news, I'm officially on vacation. Though, until Wednesday, it's just running a bunch of errands and packing. I'm glad we're not going to a deserted island though because I'm sure to forget something. Speaking of which, I have to start packing on Tuesday so I need to go start making my list. :) Texas, here we come!
