The Colvin Spot: Texas Trip ... Activities

Okay, well, since I couldn't/didn't post while we spent the last 10 days in Texas I figure this would be too crazy of a post if I didn't break it out into lists. So, here it goes. Anyway - I'll have at least one or two more posts in the next couple days and will update the "places she's been" eventually b/c now the list is REALLLY long! List number 1 - Our Calendar of Events for the time we were there

Activities

Wednesday - Arrival

Hung out with Nana and had dinner in a pizza parlor while it stormed outside and then went for a walk with mom in the crazy humidity and saw a girl I used to baby sit!

Thursday - drove to Corsicana to visit with Jonathan, Carla, and their son Loudon who is 2 weeks younger than Kayla

Friday - went with Nana to have our picture taken with Kayla who had to be waken up from her nap and therefore did not have the best pictures in the world but we got a couple good ones. Not the best pic of the 3 of us but it was certainly the best one of that day!

Saturday - Spent most of the day in the pool, or getting ready for the pool, or getting out of the pool. :-) She had a blast in there!

And really loved chewing on the floaty!

That night Eric and I enjoyed some adult time with Eric's friends who came up to go to a Rangers game.

Sunday - more pool time and some errands

Monday - Kayla turned 5 months old! Unfortunately, I got some sort of 24 hour stomach thing - the flu or food poisoning I don't know - so I spent the morning on Dad's couch. But, we did go on a tour of the Dallas Cowboy's new stadium (courtesy of dad pushing me around in a wheelchair b/c there was no way I was going to be able to walk for an hour and a half!)

Tuesday - Got up and ready to drive to East Texas, but not before one last picture.

We then spent the afternoon with Gammy and Uncle Jack, visited Gammy's work, visited with Eric's friends Doni and Thomas who brought over the pack and play Kayla would sleep in, and rounded out the evening with a visit from Eric's Aunt and Uncle. Boy - that was a busy day!

Wednesday - drove to College Station to visit Eric's cousins Susan and Vance and their kids Austin and Dallas for Austin's 17th bday.

Thursday - went to see The Proposal with Gammy (that's how we came up with Gammy for Rita's name -that's what the grandmother in the movie was called and we both liked it and when we told Kayla she thought it was the most hilarious thing she had ever heard, so it stuck! Except when we accidentally say Grammy!) and Gammy gave Kayla a bath in the big bathtub. Eric and Uncle Jack went to see Transformers with friends while Rita and i watched "He's just not that into you" and ate Blue Bell ice cream.

Friday - hung out during the day and went to Eric's friend’s house - James and Courtney - for a family and friends bbq followed by adult time!

Saturday (July 4th) - hung out INSIDE during the day b/c it was too damn hot to do anything and after Kayla went to sleep Eric and I went back to The Wells' to watch fireworks and say our goodbye's.
