New Things

So, two new things in our lives... a new camera and a new walking group. First things first... I already posted that I bought a new camera. Tonight was the first night I actually used it (remember - it was imperative that I get it Sunday night so I was never without a camera... and now it's Tuesday! Oh well!). I took a few snapshots of us/her and one video. The video is only about 4 seconds long so I'm not even going to post it. But I will share the pics. We still have to get used to switching the shooting mode but I think it takes really good pictures and when we get it figured out it'll take great ones... and hopefully less blurry ones (b/c I got a lot of blurry ones!). I'm half way through the manual... so maybe when I'm done with it I'll know the camera inside and out!

In other news I also started a walking group - Stroller Strides. Since it's exercise I can't say that it's a lot of fun, but I can say that it was interesting. It's a bunch of moms with kids in strollers. About 1/2 had 2 kids - the rest of us had one. There were 3 instructors - one main one. We'd walk a little ways then the main one would lead the group in exercises with resistance tubes. The other 2 would walk around and entertain the kids or help individual moms (mainly me b/c I was the only new one!). And while we were doing the exercises we would sing kids songs to keep them entertained. And, and! For the older kids, they posted picture cutouts of different people (think princesses and wizards, not Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie) for them to "find" along the way. It's one hour including warm up and cool down and I think it'll turn out to be a pretty good workout. I didn't realize there was time to socialize afterwards and I had to run home to get Kayla some food. Since this is twice a week I'll be better prepared next time... maybe with some toys for Ms. Kayla along with food for her for afterwards. I'm eager to meet the other moms - since I left so quick today I didn't have a chance to really talk to any of them but I scoped them out and know exactly who I want to talk to next time. :)
