Missy has officially been out in the world for longer than she was inside my big ole gigantic belly. What a milestone - bet that one is documented too often. :) So, what has Miss Kayla been up to now?? Well, she...
... is super squiggly when trying to find a comfy position to go to sleep in
... crawls with objects in her hands - doesn't matter what they are
... has mastered the art of screaming - over everything!
... can open her cradle stand drawers as well as doors with handles on them. Open. Close. Open. Close. Open. Close. You get the picture. Time to baby proof!
... is about to move into the big bathtub - the duck is getting a little tight
... she's a very determined little girl - once she puts her mind to something she follows through - until she gets distracted. :)
... doesn't yet know how to drink from a sippy cup but we work on it every once in a while
... is now firmly into three stage 2 jars of food a day - trying all kinds of new things
tried a piece of Mommy's pasta - despite daddy's concerns - whole wheat bread and a banana. Up next - avocado and eggs. Yay!
... is much better at stroller strides now that she rides in the front of the stroller
... is wearing 9 month outfits, though some 6-9 month ones still fit
... is working in extremes these day - either really happy, really focused, really zoned (rarely), or really pissed.
... flops down on her tummy when she's mad
... can't crawl in jeans... can't really wear jeans because of her cute little baby belly.
... can't crawl in dresses either... dang things get in the way
... doesn't like things on her head - headbands, bows, hats, sunglasses - she doesn't want anything on her head. Next thing you know she won't want anyone touching it either... like her mama.
... only says ba and da... repeatedly... nothing even remotely close to ma yet. :(
... doesn't do well in this dry climate... we are constantly lathering her up with lotions. Dr said it was because of the humidity but I think it's because it's dry... CA is so not humid!
... really likes her My 1st Boo that GG made her.
... has 3 boyfriends: Bradley - her daycare boyfriend, Cooper - stroller strides boyfriend, and Noah - her 1st boyfriend. And they are all older than her! We gotta watch out!
... loves the taste of books - she eats and chews on them all the time!
... plays with mommy's mixing bowls and measuring cups since she can easily get to them.
... would love to, one day, unload the dishwasher.
... is cruising like she crawled... slowly and only when she wants to... but the crawling picked up so I assume her cruising will as well. Maybe she won't walk as early as I thought she would.
... still has only stood for a couple seconds on her own - and it's only when she's really focused on
something else - like examining a toy or a bottle.
... loves water bottles, beer bottles, baby bottles... they are all fun toys.
... looks at you sometimes like she really knows what you're talking about. If you're serious - she's serious. If you're silly - she's silly.
... is pretty close to clapping - I think. She can slap your hands (or face or body) and she can bring her hands together, just doesn't quite have the hang of clapping yet.
... practices walking while holding on to mommy or daddy's fingers up over her head - who walks like that - with their arms over their heads? Can't be the easiest way to learn this new skill. :)
... loves to climb - climbs all over everything at daycare and has been caught climbing up on the first or second stair at home... again... time to baby proof!
... has 4 teeth and 2 more little nubs of teeth. Time to buy some toothpaste and start brushing!
... dances/bounces/rocks to music... depending on her position when she hears it. It's really cute!
... tries to eat her clothes
... is much happier eating in her highchair with the tray on (as opposed to not having the tray).
... is still a really happy girl... when she's not mad... and I am so looking forward to dressing her up for Halloween! Here we come month 10!
(for my own purposes I'm including these things that she can do, even though I already included them in the previous post...
she points on things, especially your mouth.
she's stood for a few seconds all by herself a few times
she likes to play games now - chasing, sock removal, peek a boo (still)...
