Starting with a couple weeks ago - I had a murder mystery dinner, hosted by Stroller Strides. This was the first murder mystery dinner I've been to and let me tell you - I was so confused! It's hard to stay in character, remember what you're supposed to remember, and try to figure out what other people know, and then try to figure out who killed who. After work no less! But it was fun to spend an evening with adults only! And the dress I bought is super comfy!
Then last weekend was the visit to the pumpkin patch. We went on Sunday, after procrastinating as long as we could, and it turned out to be the hottest day! All week was cool, then the weekend came and it was hot, then the week came and it was cool again! Climate change anyone?
Anyway - we were able to get a few good shots with her, but she was much happier once we got her home and got her pants off. :)
(yes, I realize she's not half dressed in this picture, but this was the one I had where she was smiling!)
Then, last night, the 30th, her daycare had a Harvest Festival - complete with a haunted house, face painting, a bakesale, and of course, hotdogs! And guess what - Kayla couldn't participate in any of that. :) But she had fun hanging out in her infant room with Roxanne! She was completely confused at what Roxy had on her face... we were there for an hour and she never could figure it out! :)
Then today we got up and got her bathed and ready for her 9 month pictures/Halloween pictures. I dressed her up as a Rock and Roll princess... a diy costume since I wanted a picture in a tutu and found a rock and roll onsie to go with it. Throw on some pearls (made by Nana!) and some fun/funky leg warmers and you have a rock and roll princess. I think she's completely adorable and worthy of a crown (what type of crown is still up for debate - could be the princess and the pea or Cinderella - we're not sure).
e met up with Julie this afternoon for a long trip to Chick Fil A and Babies R Us, spent the rest of the afternoon relaxing and playing in the house, gearing up for all of our Trick 'r Treaters. I made sure to answer the door with her for all of the little ones that came asking for candy - got lots of oos and ahhhs from the parents waiting at the sidewalk for the kids. We had a few of them, probably the most we've ever had, but still not very many. Oh well - she seemed to be okay seeing people in all their costumes - she didn't freak out at any of them so that's a good thing. Maybe next year we'll be able to go and she'll actually know what's going on. We shall see!
Now, she's in bed, and I think I might join her soon... I'm exhausted! Happy Halloween everyone!!!
