Our 11 month old...

...loves to dance - every time music comes on!

...likes to put things on her finger like magnets and bows, and shakes her hand hard to get them off

...loves her uncle Jack ...she got so excited to see him everyday while he was here, would go give him hugs, and climbed up in his lap a lot!

...has definitely got the hang of waking up her dad on the weekends. She's been doing this for a while now but I kept forgetting to add it to the blog. We go in every Saturday and Sunday at 8am (no sleeping in for dad!) and she knows how to bounce, tap, shake, hit, yell, stare, talk, and crawl all over him until he's awake. Fun times for sure!
...got her first haircut 2 days before turning 11 months old - now she has bangs instead of random hair hanging in her eyes!

(can't really tell in the pic, but she has a little pony tail on top so we didn't cut off as much as it looks like we did.)

...thoroughly enjoys her walker ...actually walked most of the way down our sidewalk, past about 7 condos, then got about 1/2 way back before she completely lost interest

...sounds like a gremlin, seriously, she just randomly makes these growling type noises and it's really funny.

...is an indian giver ... still giving you things and then wanting them right back.

...is getting clumsy! She hurt herself 4 times in as many days - fell down and hit her cheek on her cradle stand, leaned over and hit her eye on the corner of a drawer, tried to get away from me twice - one hit her forehead on the tv stand and once hit her eyebrow on the shelves in her room. Too bad it was all on her face - poor girl. But if it makes you feel any better in the same amount of time I hit my chin on the fridge door - don't know how that didn't leave a mark, shut a big ole steel door on my foot, and ran my toe into the tv stand... guess she gets it from me!

...tries to hold as many things in her hands as possible, I think her limit is 3 right now but usually she only gets only 2 in there.

...has 2 ear infections, poor girl

...weighs a whopping 22.02 lbs

...now has big kid car seats, no more infant car seat. (Eric installed them rear facing because of the recommendation to keep them rear facing until they are 20 lbs and 1 year old, but I can't see her if she's rear facing in these new seats so I think I'm going to turn mine around - it's only 4 more weeks.)

...gets more use out of our kitchen than we do - she loves to play with magnets on the fridge, the pots, the Tupperware, rubber cupcake holders, etc

...is daddy's girl and mommy's monkey. She absolutely lights up when she sees dad and she tries to crawl up on to or over mommy all the time.

...is getting better about her sippy cup... we usually got a few sips out of it during her meals this week... nothing consistent yet though and she still loves to throw it, though usually she's trying to put it in the cupholder on her tray.

...loves straws - not to use, just to play with

...can now say ma, ba, da, la... repeatedly...but still not in direction to anyone or anything. I think she might be close to calling dad dada but it's not real clear just yet.

...likes to hide- behind the glider in the nursery, between the couch and the shelves in the living room, next to her crib in her room - the smaller the space the better.

...just started to be able to put objects inside one another (whether or not they are supposed to fit) and to stack her blocks up instead of just tearing them down

...now also puts objects back in drawers and bags instead of just taking them out.

...can pull herself up and over her cradle stand/toy box...finds it quite funny!

... had her "almost 1" birthday party on 12/29 so Nana, Gammy, and Uncle Jack could all take part in it

...ate chicken noodle soup and a yellow cupcake with chocolate frosting at her party and made a complete mess of herself... hilarious! (I have previously said I didn't want to give her cake at her party, but was convinced by several other people including my husband to let her have some, just a small cupcake with only a little bit of frosting on it...I'm glad I did... lots of fun!)

...has 2 teeth coming in on the bottom... which explains the yelling, the ear infections, the cough, and the runny nose. It's not another cold, dang it! :)

...seriously has steam coming out of her ears when she's looking at you sometimes... you can just see the wheels turning up there.

...thinks climbing up the stairs is a fantastically fun game and if you stop her from going up you would have thought you just the world had ended

...can kill you quite easily with her smile and hugs!
