Phraseology

Lately Ms. Kayla's vocabulary has been growing on a daily basis.  It's crazy how many words she's learning, and actually knows the meaning to, and how much she's trying to mimic.  Dad and I have actually taken to spelling things out already b/c God forbid we say cookie or monkey (why we'd say monkey in casual conversation I don't know, but just go with it) b/c then we're stuck hearing that she wants to eat a cookie or watch Curious George on TV.  Yesterday I swear she said monkey or "ah ah" (her monkey sound) 178 times while Eric was watching football (or baball as Kayla says).  Point being, she's learning new words every day.

But even cooler is that she's learning phrases.  She's said bye bye for a while, and while Eric was doing bedtime readings (during my recovery time) she learned "night night".  At the gym, when she was stuck in the foam pit, she learned "I stuck" which is always fun to hear.  For the last couple months when we said "I love you" she would say "I do do" which meant "I love you too" and when we give her something she asks for she says "do do" which means "thank you".  She still can't manage "thank you" but she does now say "I la you" which is closer to "I love you" than "I do do" is.  And it is so cute.  I tell her I love her all day long, but always before bed so she now, during the day, sometimes says "night night, I la you".  Eric, in the mornings, tells her he loves her before leaving for work so she also sometimes says "bye bye.  I la you."  Sometimes all three are strung together "night night.  I la you.  bye bye."  How cute is that?

And she even gave me my very own MasterCard commercial:

New tire: $125
Rim repair: $50
Wheel alignment: $75
Hearing Kayla say "uh oh" when I ran up on a curb and said my own four letter word: Priceless.

Gotta love it!
