Half a year!

Today Tyler is 6 months old (aren't you impressed that I'm writing this on his "birthday!").  And boy is he ready to get up and go... except that he can't... poor guy.  Besides his trip to Texas he's been learning all kinds of new things like...

... his mom is ellipses crazy. (he doesn't really know that but I figured I'd just point out that I know I overuse them!)

... rice cereal, like milk, is only good really really warm.  Maybe I should try making the sweet potatoes we introduced tonight really really warm too.

... does not like to be carried facing backwards... if you hold him like that he'll strong arm you so he can turn around and see the world.  But he's usually fine be carried around facing me in the carrier.  Weird!

... the sound of water running, no matter where it is or what time of the day, means bath right?  Nope!  Sorry fella, dishes get a bath too.

... his sister is a lot of fun to watch as she moves around the room

... he can turn himself around while laying on his tummy... seriously... can do a full 360 but can't figure out how to move forward yet, but he's trying.

... bouncing in laps is just as much fun as bouncing in the jumper

...sitting is really so much cooler than laying around on your back.  You can see things this way!

... he doesn't need to put his own feet in his mouth - we'll do it for him!

... still loves to grab your lower lip/jaw/teeth and dig in!  Watch out - if he can reach it he's gonna get it.  Speaking of which...

... he can grab anything and everything in front of him. (He took a handful of bacon right of my plate the other day, and the spoon out of my cereal bowl this morning!)

... his lower lip is just about the best tasting thing on the planet... except of course his hands.

... gaining weight is over rated... as is getting taller.  (He only gained 2 lbs in the last 2 months and grew not even a full inch! Putting him at 15.5 lbs and 25 inches.)

... he can operate the keyboard or the remote or phone if given enough time... assuming that "operate" really means "drool on and hit".

... toys that are crinkly are still great fun but not nearly as much as magazines!

...if he cries he gets instant attention (shame on you mom and dad!).

... he's loved by his entire family... more and more every day!
