For the second year in a row we participated in the Uplan Children's Christmas Parade as part of Luna Club. Last year it was soooo cute to see Kayla try to wave to people and Tyler was still just the size of a pea basically. But this year it was like pulling teeth to get Kayla to wave and Tyler was in my arms weighing about the same as a dang whale because he wouldn't sit in the stroller. My how things have changed. :-)
Kayla did actually enjoy herself - handing out candy to the kids sitting on the sidewalk and waving whenever she felt like it. A lot of people said Merry Christmas to her but she's not there yet - next year she'll be screaming it from the top of her lungs I'm sure. Tyler was ready to scream at the top of his lungs this year though because after sitting in the stroller waiting for the parade to start he was not interested in riding in the stroller for the parade. So, I held him...which worked out I guess since everyone thought he was so cute in his Santa hat. Evenutally I enlisted the help of mom (who happened to be in town) to alternately push the stroller and hold Tyler.
It really is fun to see how mnay people come out for the parade and to support Luna Club (and hopefully get people to join)... even if it does take a little work. Hopefully next year both kids will ride in the wagon and wave and throw candy canes with wild abandon! Until then...
