A few weeks back Luna Club headed down to OC's Discovery Science Center to see this exhibit. We knew it'd be busy but had no idea just how busy! But we'd do anything to give our kids various experiences so on we went!
Once we got in we immediately separated because it was too hard to stick together. Kayla, Tyler and I chilled off on the side for a few minutes to get some milk and snacks in our tummies. Then we headed in.
We started by saying hello to Ernie...
Had some fun exercising... I was actually surprised that she did it - without my even telling her what to do. She just went over to this thing, jumped, and saw that it sent Grover into the air so she stayed there jumping up and down for a while.
Then moved on to pedaling - which she had a little less interest in - but at least she tried it.
After washing her hands she decided she needed to try to climb into the sink.... isn't that what you're supposed to do?
Then we learned how to dress Elmo. She actually did this very well and I was very impressed. She just picked these little pieces up and put them where they belonged. They weren't always on exactly right but they were as close as could be expected. I loved watching her do it!
There were a few other parts of the exhibit that we didn't see but it was time for lunch... and lunch turned out to be a fiasco and a half because of a school field trip that was there. I forgot about going back to the exhibit and decided we'd check out what else was in the Center.
We went outside, where it was much less crowded, to DinoQuest. Luckily, Zoe was still there so Kayla had someone to run around with for a few minutes.
We attempted to get a picture of the three of us - Kayla even knelt down like I did. How cute is that? The bushes are a little in the way but I'll take it.
She, of course, found the only slide in the place and slid down it 5-10 times.
And Tyler entertained himself by eating plastic woodchips. (Don't worry - I didn't actually let him eat them.)
This place is great for kids about 4 years old and up. I knew going into it that Kayla would be too young but thought she'd enjoy the Sesame Street Exhibit. And she did. I just should have stayed there and not tried to see what else was there. I left there pretty stressed but knowing that Kayla really did have a great time. And now I know what it's like so I can maybe be prepared next time (and bring dad along!).
