Today's all about the funny things she said in the last week...
After hearing me tell a friend the following:
My cousin, who's a nanny, walked in to change the kids diaper and he said "Look out, there's a snake in my diaper!"Kayla repeatedly said on the way home - "I have snakes in my butt." It wasn't until she said "diaper mom" that I realized she was saying she too had snakes in her diaper. Ha ha ha
When I was trying to get her to stand up instead of being a wet noodle I said "stop it" to which she replied "no, you stop it, I'm gonna recalax".
During movie night last week she repeatedly said we were eating "cupcorn" instead of "popcorn"
One day she said she was going to change a little duck's diaper. She put him on the changing mat, on it's back, wiped what could be considered his little bottom, threw the wipe away, and then wrapped it up in a diaper. She then picked up the duck & said "I'm taking the duck." I asked where & she said "To Stroller Strides to see my friends."
She alternates between calling me mommy and mom though every once in a while she'll throw in a Katie or Big Mama!
She also graduated from saying "ya ya" to "yogurt" which kinda makes me sad. I knew she'd say it right eventually but "ya ya" was so cute! Course she still says chicken instead of kitchen and yestday for yesterday so we're a far cry from speaking correctly.
Her favorite phrases, some not so funny, are I'm gonna do it, I'm gonna get it, I fix it, I show ya, yeah, my colors, my cup, etc... someone should tell her she can't do everything!
And, it's quite funny, and not yet worrisome, that she can't say several words that start with an "s" and another consonant. So, spit is pit, spoon is poon, spanking is panking, sandwich is samu (where she got that I don't know!)...oh, wait, those are mostly "sp" words. Well, there are others that she can't say either. But she can say sticker - that one is perfectly clear. :-)
In the last few weeks she's also taken quite a liking to singing. Twinkle Twinkle and ABC's are her favorite. But for Grandpa's birthday I worked with her to sing Happy Birthday... then a few days later for some unknown reason she put on the turkey hat sideways and started singing it... to Nana. I've also been singing "Hey good lookin, whatcha got cookin" a lot... don't ask me why. And the other day afer I sang the first part I told Kayla to sing and she said "sweet baby, cookin with me, recipe" with some other words thrown in the mix. It was so super cute! I love her singing.
It's a lot of fun to hear the things that come out of her mouth! I'll have to do better at documenting as the days go by because there were more - just can't remember them right now. Maybe next time. :-)
