We had such great food - baked french toast, an egg and sausage dish, some yummy grape concoction that was absolutely delicious, a blueberry and strawberry shortcake, and of course punch and champagne. Instead of a lot of games we sat around and talked and relaxed and enjoyed our kid free time, but Alicia did keep them busy sewing onsies for Tyler! Yep, you read that right - they sewed! Well, sorta. They cut out fabric in fun shapes like turtles and trucks and balloons and used a simple stitch (I think Serenity called it a blanket stitch) to sew the shapes on the onsies. I've heard of painting onsies but never sewing! As daunting as this was it was a really cute idea. I wasn't even about to attempt it so I helped myself to another serving of the grape concoction and watched all of them go to town. I only came home with one though - Alicia's because she had started it the night before. Everyone else had to take theirs home to finish it. Kelly said she had never been to a baby shower and come away with homework! That's how we roll as mama's though - our work is never done. Seriously though, ladies, I totally appreciate it. Super cute idea! Of course there was time for opening presents - mostly clothes which are cuter than I expected. I was spoiled with Kayla's super cute clothes that I thought shopping for boys clothes would be boring but they have some cute stuff out there too. But, lucky me, I don't have to buy much b/c our friends have been so great about giving us new stuff and hand me downs. And I totally don't knock the hand me downs. The kids never wear them for long enough so you might as well get some more use out of them with other kids. Works for me!
Thanks ladies for such a great day! We are really very blessed to have such great friends!
